If you are interested in history we recomend you to visit Alcazaba in Malaga – one of the most preserved Moorish fortress palace in Spain.

The northern area of Málaga is home to several wetlands that have been classified as Nature Reserves. The most well-known is the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon Nature Reserve, which boasts the second largest common flamingo colony in Europe. The excellent visitor centre offers a wealth of information about their lives and migratory habits.

eating plankton! There is a colloquial meaning in Malaga. It is an affectionate way of calling a Malaga proud native. Such as saying, “Antonio Banderas is a boqueron”. Don’t be surprised if you hear a local exclaim, “Soy Malagueño! Soy Boquerón!”

LA Concha is to Marbella what Table Mountain is to Cape Town or the statue of Christ the Redeemer is to Rio de Janeiro. It takes you around 4 hours to get to the top of the mountain to see 360 degree fantastic view of the whole southern coast from Fuengirola to Elviria, from Marbella and Puerto Banus all the way down the coast to Estepona.

SEE FAMOUS PAINTINGS OF PICASSO

Picasso’s birthplace – an apartment block in Malaga – has been converted to a foundation that organises exhibitions and educational projects in his name. There also is a much bigger collection of his works nearby in the Museo Picasso Málaga, which opened in 2003 in the Buenavista Palace.
